charm offensive
«Атака очарования», «агрессивное обаяние». Поведение, внушающее доверие, с целью достижения какой-либо цели. Это словосочетание вошло в употребление с 1979 г. и обычно относится к политикам любого толка, которые пытаются завоевать доверие избирателей во время предвыборной кампании. Оно употребляется и в более широком значении и может относиться к любому поведению, специально направленному на то, чтобы склонить людей к определённым действиям.
